Before becoming an employment lawyer, I was the target of a covert narcissist at work. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what was happening. I only knew I felt undermined, devalued, and emotionally exhausted.
Like so many gaslit employees, I questioned myself. I didn’t realize the psychological abuse for what it was. But once I started reaching out to friends and trusted colleagues (the few who did not abandon me) I began to see the truth. And I learned a powerful lesson:
You are not alone. And you don’t have to stay silent.
Now, as an employment lawyer, I help people like you—smart, hardworking employees who are being mistreated, manipulated, and gaslit at work. I've survived all your initial email described... narcissistic bosses, ego-centric man- (and women-) children while babysitting the C-Suite. If you really want to fight for me, fight the rise of the HR education snobs. I'm 61 and was raised at a time when education mattered, and experience was preferred. I don't know ... maybe it was just the O&G industry culture I was raised in. If you could speak the language and do the job better than someone straight out of college, you got the job. I have 30-years' experience but can't get in almost any door because I don't have a degree... and degrees these days ain't what they used to be.
